Even he said "its gonna go after this has been done. The main restriction that the dyno guy that I use took out was the injector restrictions in 1st 2nd and 3rd. I have a gen 4 Z1000 at the moment which has an unlocked ecu. I might be wrong here but I believe the gen4 Z1000 has the same ecu as the current zx10. If im right and this is the case why would you need the woolich system for the the zx10 or the rsv4 of any other bike for that matter. He said any one is free to work on the ecu if they please as its in an unlocked state. Mine has all the other usual stuff added tooįuel cut off fixed (heavy engine braking removed) Sent from my iPhone using TapatalkI might be wrong here but I believe the gen4 Z1000 has the same ecu as the current zx10. I think this would be a great direction for the RSV4, but Im not sure how finicky the engine is being dyno tuned or if that would cut into the business of AF1 selling race ecu's. They already have the new GSX-R's sorted out.
A lot of reputable tuners use their software as well. You would have to purchase another bin file lets say if you wanted to flash someone else's bike. You can buy their software to flash your bike as many times as you want, but it is locked to that bike. Also the levels of adjustment is unmatched. Their flash is cheap and unloads a lot of features thru the ECU that the manufacturer locks. My plan is to get this ball rolling with proven dyno numbers and results and start offering flashes for other guys bikes and even those close enough to have their ecu flashed on my dyno, hopefully if i can pressure woolich enough, by the end of summer.Īfter researching a few bikes, I know Woolich is GREAT in the ZX10R field. Regardless there is still guys out there like the much respected gabro who have managed to flash an ecu and af1 is still selling race ecu's so who knows.
It will be interesting to see how close the race map is to a full akra exhaust and bmc filter setup. I will actually have proven dyno numbers with my rsv4 including the af ratio with my race ecu by the end of this weekend. I feel it would hurt the "race" map ecu business because honestly those are just generic maps with a few tweeks. Ive been helping them along as much as i can and actually disected a rsv4 ecu a few hours ago to find the pin outs, what chips are used and anything else they would need to really help/push for them to get the ball rolling.
Im currently talking daily with a woolich rep and he said the rsv4 is on the back burner because the new cbrs, gsxrs and r3 are currently the item they need to sort the flashing out first on due to contracts. It sucks but 100 bucks for a bin file to unlock, turn off sensors, modify parameters, change ignition and fuel maps without the need for piggybacks is awesome. Ive searched for other programs that may have the ability to flash a rsv4 but havent came up with anything, so i believe woolich may be the best option. Yes i could tune this through a power commander also but would prefer to flash the ecu.Īlso i have tried to contact gabro so he could flash my ecu but he is extremely busy at this point, and i still believe a flash or tune specific to that bike with it right on the drum infront of you is best. I enjoy the race map i currently have but being a tuner i can easily tell my map is definitely generic and my af is off. If anyone sees any negatives from me helping them (they stated aprilia has been on the back burner because companies they have deals with like suzuki and honda are higher priority). Just wondering if anyone else has been down this road with them. Ive been in touch with woolich about trying to help move the progress along of having the ability to flash and tune rsv4 ecu's. My previous dyno i only did power commander and such tunes.
Okay guys, im purchasing another dyno tomorrow that comes with some woolich flashing hardware.
